Cycle Stars have been racing at Curborough Sprint Track in Lichfield, competing in the 2nd round of the West Midlands Youth Circuit Series.
Josh Weisburg representing Cycle Stars Rookies was the first to achieve a podium finishing 2nd in the U6 category.
Blake Knight and Josh Arthur won 2nd and 3rd spots respectively after a gruling battle in the lead group, not on the podium but finishing 4th was team mate Sebastian Salmon who worked hard with his team mates to ensure wins for Cycle Stars.
Isabella Jones won the U12 girls category with team mate Frankie Nicholls taking 3rd. It didn't start well for Izzy who was still trying to get used to new road cleats, found herself at the back of the field. Despite the bad start Izzy rode strongly and soon found herself amongst the boys, managing to hold her position to the finish. Frankie now on the podium for the second time was off with a blazing start, and although she dropped back was able to catch on to the faster boys groups as they passed, propelling her up the field.
There were other Cycle Stars competing that deserve a mention, Jack Weisburg racing in the U8s who rode magnificently and William Jones racing for the 2nd time in the U10s. In the U12s we had Daniel Smith racing for the first time, who managed to stay with the chasing group and Theo Moseley, who despite missing a break rode strongly, managing to shake off two competitors in the final lap.
The team look now forward to racing in the 3rd round at Stourport on the 13th May.
