Welcome to our first Grass Track event of 2022 and what an event it is shaping up to be.

May 15th 2022 - Barnwood C of E Primary School - Make a note of the day!

Bigger and better than our successful 2021 event. 

Many more schools have become members of the British Schools Cycling Association and will be entering school teams to compete for the honour of their school.

We have new event activities, including a Time Trial, Sprint Laps, Scratch Race and School Italian Pursuit.

Quella Bikes will be sponsoring the event and will be displaying a number of their lovely fixie bikes.

 

This year we also see the introduction of a fixed wheel category for 12s and over, where kids will be racing and defying speed without Brakes! Don't worry all our younger riders will be riding standard bikes, and we find that CX, Hybrid and Mountain Bikes do very well.

For those of you that are new to Grass Track Racing, it is the grass route racing to professional Veledrome racing on track bikes. The racing is the same but grass track bikes are equipped with cross tyres to give more grip.
